Joven

Mezcal Joven is the unaged, crystal-clear expression of Mexico's famous agave spirit. Unlike reposado or añejo styles, Joven goes straight from the still to the bottle, preserving the raw, vibrant character of the agave plant. It is famous for its signature smoky profile, but underneath that smoke lies an incredible spectrum of flavors, ranging from earthy clay and bright citrus to fresh herbs and tropical fruit. The taste varies dramatically depending on the specific agave variety used and where it was grown.

When choosing a bottle, look closely at the label for the agave type. While Espadín is the most common and accessible, wild agaves like Tobalá or Tepeztate offer complex, distinctive profiles. You should also look for "100% Maguey" or "100% Agave" to ensure quality. Joven is highly versatile; it shines beautifully in cocktails like a Mezcal Margarita, but the best bottles deserve to be sipped neat at room temperature, perhaps alongside sliced oranges.
