New England IPA

New England IPAs, or NEIPAs, are famous for their cloudy, unfiltered appearance and intensely fruity hop character. Unlike traditional, bitter West Coast IPAs, these ales are brewed to be smooth and pillowy. They burst with juicy aromas of tropical fruits, citrus, and stone fruit, with almost none of the harsh bitterness you might expect from a pale ale.

When choosing a bottle, look closely at the hops listed on the label. Varieties like Citra, Mosaic, and Galaxy will lean into sweet passionfruit and mango notes, while others might offer a more resinous or herbal twist. Pay attention to the alcohol by volume (ABV) too; double NEIPAs offer a richer, boozier body, while session versions keep things light and refreshing.

These beers are best enjoyed fresh, so check the canning date on the label. They pair wonderfully with spicy street food, grilled chicken, or fruity desserts, but they are equally perfect enjoyed on their own as a relaxing afternoon treat.
