Fruit Wine

Fruit wine is simply wine made from fermented fruits other than grapes. Think blackberries, elderberries, cherries, peaches, or plums. Because of this variety, the flavor profiles are incredibly diverse. Some are intensely sweet, capturing the jammy essence of summer berries, while others are surprisingly dry, crisp, and tart, mimicking the profile of a traditional white or light red grape wine.

When choosing a bottle, check the label for sweetness levels and alcohol content. Lighter, lower-alcohol fruit wines are highly refreshing and perfect for chilled summer sipping or pairing with fresh salads and soft cheeses. Richer, dessert-style fruit wines, often made from dark berries, pair beautifully with chocolate, blue cheese, or can be enjoyed on their own as an after-dinner treat.
