The Gosling family history began in 1806 when James Gosling, the son of a London spirits merchant, set sail for America but ended up charting a course to Bermuda. By 1857, the family had perfected the dark, rich blend they originally called 'Old Rum,' which was later renamed Black Seal after the black sealing wax used on the bottles.
Crafted from a closely guarded family recipe, this rum is a blend of aged pot still and continuous still distillates. It is aged in charred American oak casks in Bermuda, where the maritime climate accelerates the wood interaction.
