Bulleit was revived in 1987 by Thomas E. Bulleit Jr., who fulfilled a lifelong dream by recreating his great-great-grandfather Augustus Bulleit's high-rye whiskey recipe from the 1830s. Today, the brand's state-of-the-art distillery in Shelbyville, Kentucky, continues to craft spirits with that same bold, frontier spirit.
Bulleit Rye is produced using an award-winning mash bill containing 95% rye and 5% malted barley. This high-rye recipe is distilled and aged in charred American white oak barrels to achieve its signature spice-forward profile.
