Founded in 1942 by Don Julio González in Atotonilco El Alto, Mexico, the brand revolutionized the tequila category by prioritizing quality over quantity. Don Julio pioneered planting agave further apart to allow ideal maturation and famously designed a shorter bottle so guests could still see each other across dinner tables.
Handcrafted in Jalisco, Mexico, this legendary tequila is aged for a minimum of two and a half years in American white oak barrels at the historic La Primavera distillery. The agave piñas are slowly steam-cooked in traditional brick ovens for 72 hours before extraction.
