Founded by T. William 'Bill' Samuels Sr. and his wife Margie in 1953, Maker's Mark revolutionized the bourbon industry by replacing bitter rye with sweet winter wheat. Margie Samuels designed the iconic bottle shape, the label, and came up with the signature red wax dipping process.
Distilled in Loretto, Kentucky, Maker's Mark is crafted using limestone-filtered water and a unique mash bill featuring soft red winter wheat. The distillery & rickhouse still use historic methods, including rotating every single barrel by hand to ensure even aging.
