Founded by Bill Samuels Sr. in 1953, Maker's Mark was created with the goal of producing a bourbon that was flavorful yet easy to drink. His wife, Margie Samuels, co-created the brand's identity by designing the iconic bottle shape, the label design, and the legendary hand-dipped red wax seal.
Crafted at the historic Star Hill Farm in Loretto, Kentucky, Maker's Mark is distinguished by its use of soft red winter wheat instead of the traditional rye. The distillery is renowned for rotating its barrels by hand to ensure consistent aging and dipping every single bottle in its signature red wax.
