Founded in 1987 by Tom Bulleit, the brand was inspired by a high-rye whiskey recipe created by his great-great-grandfather Augustus Bulleit in the mid-1800s. Tom revived the family tradition in Louisville, Kentucky, creating one of the most recognizable names in modern American distilling.
Distilled at the historic Bulleit Distillery, this expression utilizes a legendary mash bill of 95% rye and 5% malted barley. It is aged for a minimum of four years in charred new American oak barrels to develop its rich, signature complexity.
