Founded in 2017 by Fawn Weaver, the brand honors Nathan 'Nearest' Green, the first known African-American master distiller who taught Jack Daniel how to make whiskey. It is the first major spirit brand named after an African-American and is celebrated as the most award-winning American whiskey of recent years.
Crafted using the traditional Lincoln County Process, this whiskey is filtered through sugar maple charcoal before aging. The production takes place at the Nearest Green Distillery in Shelbyville, Tennessee, utilizing custom-designed column and pot stills.
