Originally founded as a vinegar factory by Wilhelm Mast in 1878, the company took a historic turn when his son Curt Mast created the herbal liqueur. Inspired by his passion for hunting, Curt named the blend Jägermeister, translating to Master Hunter, and housed it in its signature heavy green bottle.
The recipe for this herbal masterpiece was perfected in Wolfenbüttel by Curt Mast in 1934. Each batch undergoes a rigorous cold filtration process and is aged for up to a year in local oak casks at the producer's craft lab before bottling.
