The story behind it

The maker

Founded in 1779 by John P. Simson, Bowmore is the oldest licensed distillery on the island of Islay. Renowned for its traditional floor maltings and classic Islay peat-drying process, it has produced world-renowned spirits for over two centuries.

How it is made

Bowmore is the home of one of the world's oldest Scotch maturation warehouses, the legendary No. 1 Vaults. Here, whiskies are carefully aged below sea level, absorbing the damp, salty air of Loch Indaal over decades.
