The brewery was founded in 2010 by Johannes von Trapp, the youngest son of Maria and Baron von Trapp, who famously inspired The Sound of Music. Nestled in the hills of Vermont, the family sought to bring the authentic, crisp lagers of their Austrian heritage to the American craft beer landscape.
Von Trapp Brewing specializes in crafting traditional Austrian and German-style lagers on their family estate in Stowe, Vermont. The brewery utilizes state-of-the-art German brewhouse technology and exceptionally pure mountain spring water to replicate historic European styles.
