The story behind it

The maker

Shinjiro Torii founded Yamazaki to realize his vision of creating a unique Japanese whisky suited to the delicate palate of his countrymen. Embracing the art of blending, the house has pioneered Japanese whisky artistry for over a century, earning global acclaim.

How it is made

Constructed in 1923 on the outskirts of Kyoto, the Yamazaki Distillery is Japan's oldest commercial whisky distillery. Located at the confluence of three rivers, the region's humid climate and pure water supply provide the ideal environment for aging world-class spirits.
