Originally brewed by Sebastian Artois after he became the master brewer in 1717, Stella Artois has grown from a local Belgian treasure into a globally recognized symbol of European brewing quality. The brand continues to utilize traditional Saaz hops and its proprietary yeast strain to guarantee consistency across centuries.
Rooted in Leuven, Belgium, this legendary brewhouse was established in 1366 as the Den Hoorn brewery. The beer itself was first crafted in 1926 as a special Christmas gift to the people of Leuven, named Stella after the Latin word for star.
