Founded by the Hahn family in 1980 in the Santa Lucia Highlands of Monterey County, the brand was created to showcase the region's suitability for robust Bordeaux varietals. Today, winemaker Megan McCollough continues the legacy of crafting expressive, deeply structured Central Coast red wines.
Smith & Hook was born from the conversion of two historic Monterey horse ranches into premier estate vineyards in the late 1970s. This bold red blend represents the wild spirit of the Santa Lucia Highlands, utilizing traditional, gravity-fed fermentation in the winery & vineyard.
