The story behind it
The De Marchi family purchased the adjoining Isole and Olena estates in 1956, unifying them into a single property in Tuscany. Winemaker Paolo De Marchi took the helm in 1976, spearheading a quality revolution that established the estate as a premier benchmark for elegant, terroir-driven Sangiovese.
Located in the heart of Chianti Classico, this historic winery & vineyard was created in the 1950s by combining two adjacent estates, Isole and Olena. Under the long-term guidance of Paolo De Marchi, the estate pioneered the Chianti renaissance by championing pure Sangiovese and modernizing local vineyard management.
