Craigellachie was established in the heart of Speyside, Scotland, in 1891. Under the stewardship of John Dewar & Sons, the brand has remained a defiant beacon of traditional, old-school whisky making, famous for its stubborn adherence to worm tubs and oil-fired kilns.
The Craigellachie Distillery was built in 1891 by legendary whisky figure Peter Mackie alongside Alexander Edward. It remains one of the very few Scottish distilleries that continues to use traditional worm tub condensers to cool its spirit, imparting an intentionally heavy, sulfurous, and muscular character.
