The story behind it
Founded in 1902 by Italian immigrant Nicola Catena, the winery pioneered high-altitude viticulture in the Andean foothills. Under the visionary leadership of Nicolas Catena and his daughter Laura, the estate has elevated Argentine Malbec to the grandest stages of global fine wine.
Sourced from the historic, limestone-rich soils of the Paraje Altamira district in the southern Uco Valley. The high altitude and dramatic diurnal temperature shifts create an ideal environment for developing thick grape skins and complex phenolics in this winery & vineyard.
