The story behind it
Founded in 1902 by Italian immigrant Nicola Catena, Catena Zapata is celebrated for pioneering high-altitude malbec in Mendoza. Under the leadership of Nicolas Catena and his daughter Laura, the winery revolutionized Argentinian winemaking by identifying the unique microclimates of the Uco Valley.
Estate-grown grapes are harvested from the historic Catena family vineyards in the high-altitude Andes foothills. The wine undergoes a gentle maceration and is aged in French oak barrels to impart complexity and elegance.
