The story behind it
Blue Moon Brewing Company was founded by Keith Villa, who earned his Ph.D. in brewing from the University of Brussels. Inspired by Belgian brewing traditions, he returned to Colorado to brew flavorful beers that appeal to all palates, starting with this award-winning wheat ale.
First crafted in 1995 at the SandLot Brewery at Coors Field in Denver, this Belgian-style witbier was designed to offer an approachable yet flavorful option. The master brewer added Valencia orange peel instead of the traditional tart Curaçao orange to create a uniquely smooth finish.
