The story behind it
Originally created by head brewer Keith Villa, Blue Moon Brewing Company was founded with the vision of bringing flavorful, Belgian-inspired craft beers to the American mainstream. Its signature orange slice garnish became an iconic ritual that helped spark the modern craft beer movement.
First crafted in 1995 at the Sandlot Brewery in Denver, Colorado, this beer was inspired by classic Belgian witbiers. The brewers added a unique twist by using Valencia orange peel instead of the traditional tart Curaçao orange peel.
