Created in 1996 by Alexandre Gabriel of Maison Ferrand, Citadelle was pioneer to the modern artisanal gin movement in France. Gabriel sought to recreate a historic French gin style from the 18th century, focusing on unparalleled copper-pot distillation techniques in the Cognac region.
Citadelle is distilled in copper pot stills at the Château de Bonbonnet using a patented progressive infusion method. This technique allows each of the 19 distinct botanicals to infuse for the precise amount of time required to capture its peak flavor profile.
