Widow Jane was founded in Red Hook, Brooklyn, in 2012 with the goal of celebrating New York's industrial history and unique water source. The brand pays homage to the legendary Widow Jane Mine in Rosendale, which provided the limestone cement used to build the Statue of Liberty and Brooklyn Bridge.
