The brand was launched by Guillermo Erickson Sauza, a fifth-generation descendant of the legendary Sauza tequila family, in 2005. Rebuilding his family's historic distillery, La Gritona, Guillermo revived old-world traditional methods that had been phased out by industrial competitors.
Crafted at Tequila Los Abuelos, NOM 1493, this estate utilizes a centuries-old tahona stone to crush 100% estate-grown blue agave. It is slowly double-distilled in classic copper pot stills, preserving the purest elements of artisanal tequila making.
