Tomatin was founded in 1897 near Inverness by a group of local businessmen who envisioned a world-class distillery in the Highlands. Historically one of the largest distilleries in Scotland, the brand transitioned in the late 20th century to focus strictly on high-quality single malts under Japanese ownership.
The Tomatin Distillery & rickhouse was established in the picturesque Monadhliath Mountains in 1897. Utilizing soft water from the Alt-na-Frith burn, the distillery focuses on creating a softer, more delicate style of Highland single malt Scotch.
