Founded in 1923 by Shinjiro Torii, Yamazaki is Japan's oldest first commercial whisky distillery. Torii envisioned a uniquely Japanese whisky made by matching the local climate and water with traditional Scottish distillation techniques.
Crafted at the Yamazaki Distillery on the outskirts of Kyoto, this pioneering whisky benefits from the region's pure water source and unique humid climate. The liquid is carefully aged in a combination of cask types, including American oak, Spanish Sherry, and rare Japanese Mizunara oak.
