Founded in 1846 by John Dewar, Dewar's grew from a small wine and spirits merchant shop in Perth, Scotland, into a global brand. Under the leadership of his sons, John Alexander and Tommy Dewar, the brand pioneered the art of double aging and built the historic Aberfeldy distillery in 1898.
Dewar's 12 Year Old is crafted by marrying select single malt and single grain whiskies, which are then aged together in oak casks for a second time. This unique double aging process at the Aberfeldy distillery allows the liquid to reach its signature level of smoothness and complexity.
