Created in 1996 by Alexandre Gabriel of Maison Ferrand, Citadelle was pioneered as the first artisanal French gin. Inspired by an 18th-century recipe from the citadel of Dunkirk, the brand modernised French distilling by reintroducing traditional open-flame distillation techniques.
Distilled at the Château de Bonbonnet in traditional Charentais copper pot stills. It is crafted utilizing a patented progressive infusion method where each botanical is steeped for its optimal duration.
