The story behind it
Founded in 1966 by winemaking pioneer Robert Mondavi, the winery was established with the vision of creating Napa Valley wines that could compete with the world's finest. The Private Selection label was launched in 1994 to showcase the outstanding quality of grapes grown in California's cool-climate Central Coast region.
Crafted in Monterey County, this wine leverages select coastal vineyards to yield concentrated fruit before undergoing a unique aging process. A portion of the blend is finished in select charred southern bourbon barrels for three months to add complex, toasted flavor dimensions.
