The maker
In 1932, salesman Herman Lay opened a snack food operation in Nashville, Tennessee, eventually purchasing the manufacturer to form Lay's Lay Lingo Company in 1939. Today, Lay's is one of the world's most famous potato chip brands under the PepsiCo umbrella.
