The story behind it
Founded in 1980 by Nicolaus Hahn, Hahn Winery pioneered exceptional winemaking in Monterey County. Nicolaus was instrumental in establishing the Santa Lucia Highlands AVA in 1991, cementing the family's legacy as visionaries of California's Central Coast wine production.
Nicolaus and Gaby Hahn purchased their first vineyards in Monterey County in the late 1970s, realizing the region's immense potential for cool-climate varieties. The winery and vineyard estates quickly became standard-bearers for quality winemaking in the Santa Lucia Highlands.
