Founded in 2008 by Ken Austin and Kenny Dichter, Tequila Avión was created with the vision of crafting a tequila that showcases the authentic flavor of highland agave. Produced in collaboration with the Lopez family, fifth-generation agave growers, the brand gained widespread fame through its prominent feature on the television series Entourage and was later acquired by Pernod Ricard.
Produced at a single distillery & production estate in Jesus Maria, Jalisco, this tequila utilizes high-elevation blue Weber agave that matures for up to eight years. The agaves are slow-roasted in traditional brick ovens for three days to maximize their sweet, caramelized flavors before small-batch copper pot distillation.
