Founded in 1821 by Girolamo Luxardo in Zara, Dalmatia, the brand was built on the exceptional quality of local Marasca cherries. After the devastation of World War II, the Luxardo family relocated to Torreglia in northeastern Italy, preserving their historic recipes and continuing a family-owned legacy spanning over two centuries.
This historic liqueur is made using original Marasca cherries, which are harvested, infused in larchwood vats, and distilled in copper pot stills. The resulting distillate is aged for two years in ashwood vats before being sweetened and bottled in its iconic straw-wrapped flask.
