The story behind it

The maker

Founded in 1824 by Alexander Reid on a plateau above the River Spey, The Macallan was one of the first licensed distilleries in Scotland. The brand has built a global reputation based on its commitment to the mastery of wood and spirit, using exceptional sherry-seasoned oak casks.

How it is made

Crafted at The Macallan Estate in Speyside, Scotland, using exceptional water sourced from the estate's own boreholes. The distillery's signature curiously small copper stills maximize spirit contact with copper, resulting in a rich, oily, and full-bodied distillate.
