The story behind it
Founded by John and Jen Kimmich in 2003 as a brewpub in Waterbury, Vermont, The Alchemist quickly gained a cult following. After a devastating flood from Hurricane Irene in 2011, they pivoted focus to production brewing, turning Heady Topper into a global craft beer phenomenon.
Brewed in Vermont by The Alchemist, this iconic double IPA helped pioneer the hazy, hop-forward New England IPA style. It is intentionally packaged in a can and meant to be consumed directly from it to preserve the delicate hop aromatics.
