Oskar Blues Brewery was founded by Dale Katechis in 1997 as a brewpub in Lyons, Colorado. Driven by a spirit of outdoor adventure and a desire for portable, high-quality craft beer, Katechis kick-started the canned craft beer revolution by hand-canning Dale's Pale Ale in 2002.
First brewed in 2002, Dale's Pale Ale made history as the original craft beer in a can, challenging the industry's bottling standards. The brewery uses custom-designed brewhouse vessels in Colorado and North Carolina to ensure consistent hop saturation and malt balance.
