The maker
Originally created in 1940 by Tennessee beverage bottlers Barney and Ally Hartman, Mountain Dew became a PepsiCo brand in 1964 and introduced the wildly popular, tropical-themed Baja Blast flavor in 2004 as a taco shop exclusive before its retail release.
