The story behind it
Founded by Justin Heilenbach, Bryan Holmes, and Kris Nelson, Citizen Cider started as a small batch project in a basement before becoming a regional craft cider powerhouse. Their mission is to bridge the gap between fruit growers and cider drinkers by keeping the process local and authentic.
Citizen Cider was born in 2010 out of Burlington, Vermont, with a commitment to sourcing 100% of their apples from local, family-owned orchards in the Lake Champlain region. The cidery works closely with local growers to press, ferment, and bottle fresh fruit without any added concentrates or artificial flavorings.
