The story behind it
Blue Moon Brewing Company was founded by head brewmaster Keith Villa, who earned his PhD in brewing from the University of Brussels. He aimed to craft an approachable craft beer that combined European brewing traditions with an American twist.
Launched in 1995, this classic wheat ale was first crafted at the Sandlot Brewery at Coors Field in Denver. The recipe reimagined traditional Belgian Witbier by incorporating sweet Valencia orange peel instead of tart Curaçao orange peel.
