Founded by David G. Yuengling in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, the brewery has remained family-owned and operated for six generations. Surviving Prohibition by producing near-bear and ice cream, the brewery reintroduced its iconic Traditional Lager in 1987, sparking a massive resurgence.
Established in 1829, D.G. Yuengling & Son is officially recognized as America’s Oldest Active Brewing Company. This historic amber lager is brewed using traditional brewing methods passed down through generations in Pottsville.
