The story behind it
The Weihenstephan brewery traces its origins back to the Benedictine monastery founded in 725 on Weihenstephan Hill. Formally licensed to brew beer by the City of Freising in 1040, the brewery remains a global benchmark of traditional German brewing sciences and monastic quality.
