Shock Top was created by Anheuser-Busch to bring a highly approachable craft-style Belgian Witbier to a national audience. Characterized by its iconic wedge-headed orange mascot, 'Wedgehead', the brand emphasizes lighthearted refreshment and real-fruit brewing ingredients.
First introduced in 2006 as a seasonal brew called Spring Heat Spiced Wheat, this beer went on to win gold at the Great American Beer Festival. Its immediate popularity led to its year-round release under the Shock Top name.
