Shipyard Brewing Company was founded in 1994 by Fred Forsley and master brewer Alan Pugsley in Portland, Maine. Originally starting at the Federal Jack’s Restaurant and Brewpub, Shipyard grew to become a pioneer in the New England craft beer movement, famous for its English-style open fermentation.
