Shatter is a high-profile collaborative project created by renowned winemakers Dave Phinney of Orin Swift and Joel Gott. Combining Phinney's bold stylistic vision with Gott's structured winemaking approach, they sourced old-vine Grenache from the rugged Maury region of France to create a modern classic.
Shatter is crafted in the Maury region of Roussillon, known for its steep, black schist hillsides that yield intensely concentrated fruit. The wine gets its name from the extreme wind condition known as shatter, which naturally thins the grape clusters during flowering to intensify the remaining crop.
