Founded in 1976 by Joel Peterson in Sonoma, Ravenswood began as a passionate pursuit of exceptional Zinfandel and robust red varietals. Peterson became famously known as the Godfather of Zin, establishing a legacy of intense, high-quality, and unapologetic California wines.
Ravenswood was established in the late 1970s with a singular focus on crafting expressive, bold red wines that define the character of California terroir. Their wines are fermented in small French and American oak barrels to develop complexity, texture, and deep spice integration.
