The story behind it

The maker

Founded in 1938 by the Ferrer de Morais and Candido Carneiro families in Victoria de Santo Antão, Pitú has grown to become one of the most recognizable cachaça brands globally. The iconic red shrimp on the label represents the native freshwater shrimp found in the local Pitú river that flows near the production estate.

How it is made

Produced in the state of Pernambuco, this spirit is crafted using state-of-the-art distillation columns fed with pure, fresh-pressed sugarcane juice. This regional specialty, known as cachaça, is deeply tied to Brazilian heritage and is protected by federal law as a unique geographical product.
