The story behind it
The maker
Metaxa was founded by Spyros Metaxa in Piraeus, Greece, in 1888 with the vision of creating a spirit of exceptional smoothness. Known as 'The Original Greek Spirit,' it survived multiple wars and expanded internationally, remaining a unique category in the spirits world.
How it is made
Metaxa is produced at the historic house in Attica, where wine distillates are aged in French Limousin oak casks before being blended with Muscat wines. The blend is then married with secret Mediterranean botanicals and rose petals, resting once more before bottling.
