Founded in 1691 by Joannes Nolet in Schiedam, Netherlands, the Nolet Distillery has remained a family-owned craft operation for over 11 generations. Ketel One was created by Carolus Nolet Sr. in 1983, named after the original coal-fired copper pot still, Distilleerketel No. 1, which is still used in production today.
