Harpoon Brewery was founded in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1986 by Dan Kenary, Rich Doyle, and George Ligeti. Driven by a desire to bring great beer to New England, they secured Massachusetts Brewing License Number One and eventually transitioned to an employee-owned structure.
